The Foundation for Inclusive Community Help (FICH), in collaboration with Uwezo Uganda, is seeking qualified assessors to conduct the FICH-Uwezo Uganda Foundational Learning Baseline Study. This study is part of the Equal Foundations EmpowerED Futures project and will take place in four districts of Northern Uganda: Oyam, Kole, Alebtong, and Arua.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Previous Experience: Proven experience in data collection.
- Education: Minimum of an O-Level Certificate.
- Communication Skills: Strong proficiency in English and either Leb Lango or Lugbara ti.
- Technical Skills: Ownership of a functional smartphone and the ability to operate it effectively.
- Integrity: Commitment to delivering high-quality work, with no criminal record or history of child abuse. A recommendation letter from a religious leader is an added advantage.

It’s great to see such a collaborative effort between FICH and Uwezo Uganda to improve foundational learning in Northern Uganda. The initiative seems well-organized and focused, which is impressive. I wonder how the study will address the challenges of conducting assessments while schools are still in session, as this could be a logistical hurdle. It’s encouraging to see so many people excited and ready to contribute to this important work. However, I’m curious if there are specific plans in place to ensure that the data collected will lead to actionable and sustainable changes in the education system.
