FICH Hosts Stakeholder Engagement Planning Convening in Oyam District

FICH recently hosted a Stakeholder Engagement Planning Convening at our offices in Akongatar, Iceme Sub-county, Oyam District.

The gathering brought key stakeholders together to strengthen partnerships and collaboration, with a clear vision of increasing stakeholder involvement in FICH’s work and better aligning efforts with our shared objectives for sustainable community transformation.

The convening was officially opened by the LCV Chairperson of Oyam District, Hon. Nelson Adea Akar, who encouraged FICH to continue its vital work in improving livelihood opportunities and education standards across the district. He pledged the district’s full support to work hand-in-hand with FICH to achieve these goals.

We were honoured by the presence and remarks of Mr. Herbert Kitutu, Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) of Oyam District:

“This is an NGO I am truly proud of. Despite my busy schedule, I could not miss being with them. These are real partners that the district has. Your input in education and livelihood interventions is being felt.”

Community voices added powerful testimony. Apiny Eunice from the Orib Cing Women Group in Akongatar was full of praise for FICH’s livelihood interventions. She highlighted how the VSLA programme has transformed their lives, with the revolving fund enabling women to borrow and strengthen their businesses. She also commended the distribution of bio-fortified NARO beans, noting that they are drought-resistant and deliver high yields — a game-changer for food security and income.

In his closing remarks, ARDC Ayub Tenywa expressed delight at FICH’s alignment with and support for government efforts in socio-economic transformation:

“I love the testimonies I have heard about helping our people in socio-economic transformation. Our people are utilizing these programmes well. Let us celebrate the transformation together. The girls’ training programme is supplementing our Presidential Skilling Programme. This is so great in helping our girls who might have dropped out of school.”
