Karacel Community Library Receives New Books

Karacel Community Library is pleased to receive a donation of 45 books to add to the inventory of books already available in the Library. The books and a donation from the Darien Book Aid plan will help improve learning and reading culture among primary school children.

Winnie Aol the Librarian at Karacel Community Library says the books in this collection target mainly primary school learners;

we have books that will help in English Language, Social Studies, books for lower classes with clear illustrations that a child can read and understand clearly. We now have Atlas which we never had in the library. I hope this will improve the performance of learners at school

With the addition of new books, Aol urges learners from primary schools within to utilize this opportunity to come and read in this serene environment and make them pass their examinations.

Emmy Zoomlamai Okello, Executive Director at Foundation for Inclusive Community Help (FICH) says the books will improve the competency of children in literacy and numeracy as well as develop the love of reading to enable them to understand many concepts comprehensively

Karacel Community Library now has more than 1000 different books, but there is a need to have more books targeting all categories at the Library. The new books were received by Greg Ripke, a Peace Corps Volunteer in Uganda in coordination with Peggy Minnis also a peace corps Corresponding Secretary from the US
