Sustainable Households Initiative
Aimed at promoting and supporting practices that ensure the long-term well-being, stability, and resilience of households. Recognizing that education alone is not enough, this initiative addresses the economic barriers that keep families from reaching their full potential.

“When communities are equipped with the right tools and knowledge, they don’t just survive — they thrive.” – FICH
Explore Our Sustainable Initiatives Program
Explore how FICH is strengthening households by equipping youth, women, and families with training, financial support, and mentorship.
Karacel Bakery & Training Center
Young women receive vocational training in tailoring, hairdressing, and baking nutritious goods using locally grown soya flour. Through hands-on experience at the bakery, they gain stable employment while also learning entrepreneurship, business management, and financial literacy. This holistic approach equips them with the skills and confidence to seek further employment or start their own businesses.
VSLA
Village Savings and Loan Associations (VSLAs) are community-based savings groups that empower women with the financial tools they need to overcome daily challenges, set meaningful goals, and build a more secure future. Through regular saving and access to small loans, women gain confidence, grow their businesses, and support their families—strengthening both their livelihoods and their communities.
Microloan Program
Through its Microloan Program, FICH provides women entrepreneurs with access to small loans and revolving funds designed to support the growth of their businesses. These financial resources help women expand income-generating activities, improve household financial stability, and achieve greater independence. By investing in women, FICH is fostering stronger families and more resilient, self-reliant communities.

Skills for Self-Reliance
Girl Empowerment Initiative
FICH’s Girl Empowerment Initiative focuses on equipping out-of-school young women with practical skills, self-confidence, and pathways to economic independence. Through hands-on vocational training in tailoring, participants gain valuable skills that allow them to support themselves and contribute to their communities meaningfully.
Beyond technical training, the program integrates mentorship, life skills development, and basic business knowledge—helping young women build confidence and resilience. By reaching those who missed out on formal education, this initiative ensures that no girl is left behind in the journey toward empowerment and self-reliance.
