This week Foundation for Inclusive Community Help-FICH carried out a monitoring visit to Arua Youth Development Initiative-AYDI; one of its partner organizations implementing the Community Learning program with support from Grassroots Nest for Innovation Change-GRIC. The Support supervision arose from the need to improve the capacity of partner organisations implementing the education program which targets learners in lower primary schools to acquire competencies in literacy and numeracy as the foundational skills for children.
Led by AYDI Executive Director Ricky Ojok, the team visited Arua Primary School located in Arua Central Division in Arua City. Like in other partner organisations in Uganda, parental engagement is still a big challenge toward improving the learning of children in many communities as Hilal Naseem, the school management committee-SMC chairperson of Arua PS asserts.
