FICH FL Summary Report
This consolidated report presents findings from three rounds of foundational
learning classroom observations conducted in April 2025, October 2025 and
March 2026 across 32 schools in Oyam, Alebtong, Kole and Arua districts. FICH

In April 2026, FICH and its partners Growth
Care Uganda, Arua Youth Development
Initiative and Change Lead Agency for Social
Support conducted classroom observation
for the foundational learning program across
32 schools in Oyam, Alebtong, Kole and
Arua districts. The primary aim of these
observations was to assess key aspects of
teaching and learning, including classroom
management, lesson delivery, use of
teaching resources, gender considerations
and learners’ engagement. The observations
sought to provide a comprehensive
understanding of how foundational learning
practices are implemented in these schools,
highlighting both strengths and areas for
improvement.
